Over time I had taken a multitude of photos of her and now I wanted to get one made into a portrait that I could hang on my wall so I could see my baby every day and she could still be with me after a fashion.
Through family members I had been made aware of a young Lincolnshire artist called Michelle, who works under the name of Lilleybeau (https://www.lilleybeau.co.uk). I had been blown away by how detailed and lifelike her pictures are and so I just knew that I wanted her to undertake the commission of producing such a very special portrait.
I contacted her and agreed to find a selection of photos to send her from which she could produce her work. It was quite hard to decide on which one should be used to base the final composition but eventually I decided on a beautiful photo of Meghan sleeping on her blanket on the sofa with Harry’s back sneaking in on the background. Harry would be erased from the final portrait so only Meghan would feature in it. I thought that the fact she was sleeping in the photo was very poignant given that that was exactly how I had left her on that very sad day at the vet’s surgery.
I sent my deposit off to Michelle and after a few weeks she got back in touch to let me know the work was now ready and to see if I was happy with it before sending it off to me. She attached a copy of the portrait to her email. I held my breath and opened it up. Immediately my eyes filled with tears as my gorgeous baby girl appeared before me looking so real just as if she had been captured a split second ago snoozing peacefully, a secret smile floating on her lips as she dreamed of lovely doggy things.
I emailed Michelle straight back to tell her how delighted I was with her work. She was very pleased I was so happy, but how could I not have been? Like so many other talented people I just don’t think she realises how very talented she is and I cannot recommend her work highly enough.
